Blame it on global warming, the San Bernardino mountain is lacking natural snow this time of season. The natural snow is being delayed for few more weeks and the mountain resorts are producing enough snow to last a few days. The upside to this is that the lift tickets are lot lower than the holiday rates, and you should be able to snowboard on descent amount of snow if you get there early. The downside is that you may see sparks from all the scraping your board will get from the ground rocks (it could get ugly), few lifts open, and hard snow.

I am itching to go up this year and attempt a mini jump. Would love to see high feet of both natural and man-made snow on a bright and sunny day! ![]()
Hello everybody,
This year’s Southern California Korean church softball competition is being hosted by the 2006 softball champion, Cerritos Mission Church in Fullerton the following month. Our church has been out of the friendly sports competition for awhile but we decided to sign up for fun. After the tournament, we’ll get a better feel of what level we stand.
The 2007 Southern California Korean Church softball competition will consists of 24 Korean churches and fellowships competing in the tournament in a single round elimination. Each team is guaranteed three games in the initial round and playoff advancement thereafter. It will be a sweat-packed full day (8am to 9pm) tournament and spectators are likely to see many grade-A and B performing teams play on this day.
Our church (Family Chapel and Oriental Mission Church “OMC”) is running practice once a week and improvements can be seen every week. Being a newbie softball player, it took me few weeks to learn the technicality, fundamentals, and teamwork to play softball efficiently and to make the sports more enjoyable for everyone. Our team captain, Brian has many years of softball experience and is doing an excellent job in our drills and practices. We had our first scrimmage and we won so our weekly practices are paying off.
Few of our top players will be stepping out of the tournament due to their schedule and will likely be a disadvantage for the team. Nevertheless, if our players concentrate and focus on not making simple errors in every play, we have high hopes to do great!
Look forward to the team photos (will be uploaded if available) after the September softball competition. Thanks for reading. ![]()
Do you ever get nostalgic after returning from a summer retreat, especially when it was very memorable?
I returned from a summer retreat this weekend. Family Chapel, the EM of OMC invited upcoming seniors to join them in PineCrest conference center in Lake Arrowhead. I had the privilege to join the group and it is thus far the highlight of this year’s summer.
I left Friday afternoon and carpooled with three other brothers to get to the retreat site. I knew in advance this will be an awesome retreat from the time I depart til the time I arrive back.
When you leave for a retreat, it’s best to leave everything behind at home. I did. I took only my sleeping bag, extra clothes, and toiletries. I was free from everything, I escaped reality so to speak. Nothing to worry about up there, hot meals were served each day, cozy bed, powerful worship (great praise band from OC), and a group of wonderful people.
I loved my small group. Everyone was interesting, loving, pretty, smart, and cool. What really caught my attention was their genuineness. When we shared
Morning Prayer and Power Walk
Saturday morning, as soon as we finished our morning gathering, prayer walk took place. The whole group left the chapel and went on a scenic walk in the wilderness, I was a part of nature. One fourth of the hike, few people decided to head back. Halfway when we reached an archery site, the remaining one half decided

Final week starts tomorrow and I don’t have to bother doing a single all-nighter this week. How sweet is that.
More updates coming..
The graduation commencement is on June 10, 2006, Saturday. I will get one week of break and I will need to return to summer quarter to finish the remaining units left.
But before I return back to school, I really need to get my mind off the textbooks during the short period. I’ve decided with the encouragement of my father, that I should plan a week long road trip across many states in a car. Sounds unrealistic? Well, read on.
My best friend will visit Los Angeles on June 8th and will attend my graduation ceremony and a wedding ceremony (concidentally the same day) on the 10th. Daniel is a pioneer. He has actually driven from Los Angeles to New York last year to get home and I was impressed. And I am really hoping that he can join me in this adventure and partake in the exploration of famous restaurants and state landmarks across states. How exciting! If time permits, I want to delve into all fifteen (+/-4) states!
This whole adventure idea was brought up Tuesday night when my dad asked, “How come you don’t like to travel?” Few seconds later, I replied with a ‘don’t make me’ look, “That’s it dad, I’m driving to New York city after the graduation date.” That must have been the answer he wanted to hear because he smiled and supports me all the way. ![]()
I’m going to start my planning this weekend and decide if the one week timeframe is sufficient for the roundtrip. Unfortunately summer quarter begins on Monday so I must return back within the week. Such vacation is like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity so long hours of planning will be invested into this project.
Regarding the blog title, “Tour The U.S. With A Motorcycle!” I’m thinking of completing the CA-MSP and get the Motorcycle license from the CA DMV. I really want to get a weekend-drive motorcycle. A used bike for beginners ranges around $1,500 to $2,300 which is affordable. I’ll keep you posted about the bike at a later date.
