The American Heart Association recently explained that hands-only CPR can be as effective as doing a mouth-to-mouth CPR. It is nice to know that you could rush in and become a hero instead of hesitating whether you want to give a mouth-to-mouth CPR to a total stranger. The least anyone could do if they witness a heart attack is to dial 911.
Teach your friends and family how to perform a CPR and even demonstrate the simple procedure. In a hands-only CPR, you would want to pump as fast as you can right above the heart, or the mid-center of the victim’s body with both of your hand. Put one palm over the other and pump repeatedly to reach 100 pumps per minute.

Hello everyone, hope the weather is nice and sunny on the first day of spring.
While the undergrads are finishing up the final exams and thinking of their spring break plans, I too am studying into the wee hours preparing for a line of exams that I’ve planned out over the course of months. I am putting great effort trying to distinguish myself from competitors by taking several exams to become certified in the field I am in. Despite the reduced bedtime, I look forward in this endeavor because of a simple realization–the energy and time I invest studying and learning the materials will output reaps of long term benefit. Diligence, persistence, I have what it takes.
The downside to this is finding the time to get to the gym. Bummer.

Hello everyone,
I planned on writing the blogs on a more frequent basis but things here and there took a lot of my time. I hope that all of you are doing well and in great health.
Heading home from church this afternoon, an aggressive driver abruptly cuts left into my lane when everyone is speeding at around 70mph. (roll eyes) His reckless driving eventually led to a severe car accident right there and then. As soon as the driver came onto my lane, another driver drove to her/his left (to my right) and within seconds, these two drivers crashed into each other. Luckily there was no other car driving close behind me as I had to stomp on that brake pedal. Quickly turned on the hazard light and made my way out of there.
The first thing that came to my mind was “Wow, thank you Lord!” I’m just thankful and lucky to get away from the accident and maintain a low auto insurance rate. Well we know that those drivers will see an increase in their insurance rate.
I’ll cut it short as I’m studying for an exam coming up this week. Wish me luck.
P.S. Please drive carefully.

Both the Federal Reserve and the U.S. Government are really pushing the economic-stimulus package to full throttle. You should now know that the IRS will be issuing economic-stimulus payment checks in an amount of $600 ($1,200 for married couples) if you meet a few of the requirements. Then there is the Federal Housing Administration raising the mortgage limits on certain counties of California. Another probably interest rate cut by the Federal Reserve according to the Federal Chairman. And several new programs to alleviate increasing home foreclosures.
2008 will be a busy year: the US Presidential Election, 2008 Summer Olympics, and the fluctuation of the US economy (can you say recession?). 2008 marks a new beginning with the new presidential inauguration of Lee Myung-bak. I believe that the country will go through a growth phase during his term that will generate new businesses in many parts of the country, especially outside the urban cities. President Lee’s vision for his country will significantly impact the livelihood of the citizens because of his vision to advance and succeed in the global market.
Now let’s go back to the “Economic-Stimulus Rebate” that millions of Americans are anxiously waiting for. The so called rebates is not really a generous rebate that the US Government decided to give to all taxpayers. The consequence of this generosity to increase economic boost short term is the further deficit of the nation by borrowing debt that our children will need to be responsible of. Meaning the $600/$1200 rebates are loans from our children to us in 2008.

Blame it on global warming, the San Bernardino mountain is lacking natural snow this time of season. The natural snow is being delayed for few more weeks and the mountain resorts are producing enough snow to last a few days. The upside to this is that the lift tickets are lot lower than the holiday rates, and you should be able to snowboard on descent amount of snow if you get there early. The downside is that you may see sparks from all the scraping your board will get from the ground rocks (it could get ugly), few lifts open, and hard snow.

I am itching to go up this year and attempt a mini jump. Would love to see high feet of both natural and man-made snow on a bright and sunny day!
