Kwak.org is maintained by Kevin Kwak. I created Kwak.org so that my relatives and friends that I had lost contact with could find Kwak.org through the search engines. And the website serves many good purposes: posting photos and writing blogs about my family. It is a method to communicate with other family members across the ocean. [HISTORY - Kwak Surname]
About 400 family names are used in both North and South Korea of which Lee, Kim, and Park are particularly common, accounting for almost half the Korean population. Although Kwak surnames are not common in Korea, Kwak surname has been originated from the Republic of Korea.
I was contacted by Shawn Kwak, a Korean immigrant like myself and with his assistance, we can create a "tracing of our family origin and creating a genealogy tree. I wish to share information with others as well as collect as much information as possible now before our name heritage becomes so obscure that it is impossible to trace."
