2007 KCCC Vision Conference

History of KCCC
Campus Crusade for Christ was founded by Bill and Vonette Bright at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1951. One year later, Bill Bright wrote 'The Four Spiritual Laws' - likely the most widely distributed religious booklet in history, with approximately 2.5 billion printed to date. By 1960, Campus Crusade was established on 40 campuses in the United States and in two other countries. During the 1960's the ministry began conducting international Christmas conferences and summer mission projects. In 2003, the campus ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ currently has active movements on more than 1,000 campuses with 44,000 students involved. There are 1,700 full-time campus ministry staff members serving in the U.S. and internationally. The ministry is sharing the gospel with approximately 8 million students each year with 7,900 recorded decisions by students who accepted Christ last year.

Established in 1958
While studying at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California, Reverend Joon Gon Kim met Dr. Bright and learned of their common vision to reach the world for Christ. Reverend Kim returned to Korea and established Korea Campus Crusade for Christ (KCCC) in 1958. During the last forty years, KCCC has maintained its commitment to evangelize to Korea. With its main headquarter in Seoul, KCCC is operating ministries in 43 major cities in South Korea. KCCC has commissioned 1,000 staff members as overseas missionaries, and plans to send out 10,000 more staff members to unreached people groups by the year 2000.

Since then KCCC has focused on working with the college students and has played an important role in the shaping of Korean Christianity. With its main headquarters in Seoul, Korea Campus Crusade for Christ has commissioned more than a thousand staff members overseas as missionaries. It is the hope of this ministry to commission ten thousand missionaries into the 10/40 Window by the year 2020.

In 1982, Young-Won Kang established KCCC in America at Columbia University, New York University, and Julliard School of Music. KCCC serves campuses all over the United States, reaching out and touching the lives of thousands of Korean-Americans. KCCC strives to help the 1.5 and second generation Korean-Americans firmly establish their identity first as Christians, then as Korean-Americans.

Korea Campus Crusade for Christ in America
Korea Campus Crusade for Christ began commissioning missionaries into the United States, because of the need to minister to 1.5 and second generation Korean Americans. The focus of the new ministry was to firmly establish the Christian identities of the next generation of Koreans in America.

Korea Campus Crusade for Christ Today
Dong Whan and Jung Sook Kim helped to bring about a great student revival when they came into positions of leadership in 1996 at LA KCCC. The Great Commission Training Center (GCTC) for Korean staffs was established for the first time outside of Korea in 1997 to offer staff development and training and has since yielded more than sixty full-time staff. The Macedonian Project has also experienced rapid growth since 1997, and this past summer more than three hundred students were sent to eight different countries along the 10/40 Window for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Vision Conference has grown from eighty attendants in 1996 to more than 1,200 attendees in 2002, and maintains a dream of three thousand students by the year 2005. The Gethsemane Prayer movement began in 1997 with twenty people but has since grown to more than three hundred students every week. Gethsemane Prayer has fueled the student movements not only in the Los Angeles region, but also in San Diego, Berkeley, New York City, Buffalo, and Toronto, Canada.

KCCC seeks to WIN, BUILD, TRAIN, and SEND students into the world as beacons of light for the fulfillment of the Great Commission in this generation. Our means of training students consist of small group leadership training, campus witness meetings, morning prayer, retreats, lock-ins, Gethsemane Prayer meetings, weekly open chapels, summer missions, Gideon Leadership Training, and much more.

Post 2005 KCCC Vision Conference

Showers of Righteousness
Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground, for it is time to seek the Lord, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.” Hosea 12:12

A single tear drop from Heaven falls from the Father's eyes - As He looks from heaven, upon His son, being put to death on the cross.
The Father's tear drop falls as a heavy rain that covers all the earth, symbolizing a festival of victory over death, and absolute freedom from all fear and condemnation.

2000 years later, today, another single tear drop from Heaven falls from the Father's eyes. The father's heart, as He looks down upon today's young generation, pours out as a heavy rain, once again.

The Father's tear falls upon us, washing away all of our inner darkness; it strengthens our unending weaknesses that cause us to fall time, and time again; and cuts away at all the chains that bind us to sin. Just as the leper was unaware of his soul, of love, and of Christ... the Father's tear falls upon us as a heavy rain, reviving our dreaded hearts.

Shower us with Your rain, o Father! Shower the Holy Spirit, your Grace, your Forgiveness, and renewal upon us. Rain that will cause this young generation to be revived, fall upon us! Fall upon our every hearts, our every family, every church and every campus.

Shower Your heavy rain, upon us.
Come! We invite you to a place where you can be touched by the Father's tears that will pour down as a heavy rain. Come to Vision Conference 2005, "Showers of Righteousness." Come to a place where God's Grace will pour down as a waterfall shower - from Heaven!

"Showers of Righteousness"
Dong Whan Kim
Director of KCCC LA

2005 Summer Missions

1.5 and 2nd generation Korean-Americans have been blessed with the special ability to adapt to various cultures that allow them to be well-suited for world missions. Hundreds of college students go forth every summer to those unreached countries within the 10/40 window to share the Gospel through Summer Projects with KCCC. Mission training begins in March, recruiting volunteers for ten different countries around the world and equipping them through seminars and dynamic training activities.

KCCC Summer Projects began in 1997 with 38 volunteer students from various college campuses in the city of New Delhi, India. Subsequent years have been Summer Projects with KCCC grow to include nine different countries around the world. Active volunteers are expected to grow to over 500 students and staff, next summer. As more and more college students come to share in the vision of spreading the Gospel around the world, it is our hope to see a great revival in all people, of every nation.
