All Christians feel the burden of missions at least once in their lives. The STINT (STaff INTernship) program provides six-month to one-year programs involving firsthand missions experience with local missionaries through language, cultural and ministry training. It provides an excellent opportunity for interns to discover their calling, learn how to utilize their talents to serve and commit to being a sending or going-missionary. After the start of short-term missions to the Philippines in 1990, Korea CCC began a more extensive missionary training program in September of 1991 called STINT. That year, it commissioned 20 students to Japan and is currently sending 1,000 students to seven nations around the world. Last June, LA KCCC began its first STINT program by sending eight interns to East Asia, Japan, and Kazakhstan. Though the commitment of six months to one year of their lives was an obstacle for the eight interns, nothing could hinder their deep desire to be partakers in the harvest field for the Lord. (Three of the interns are back here at Vision Conference, and the other five will continue their training for six more months). As a program for students who wish to dedicate six months to a year as short-term missionaries. STINT (Short Term INTernational) members share the Gospel overseas while working with the local missionaries. Student housing is provided on the local college campuses with language courses readily available to aid in the ministry work.

A Great Learning Adventure Students are welcome to dedicate a year of their lives for an exciting adventure in mission field. STINT interns will have the opportunity to work with the directors and staff in the main headquarters. The program will provide a combination of utilizing the education you received in college and the talents God gave you to facilitate evangelism and discipleship. Foreign Language Training Skillful and faithful workers are needed all over the world for the spiritual harvest. Speaking at least one foreign language is essential in this day and age. Your program training will begin with learning a new language. The STINT program has recruited excellent staff for teaching language classes. At least 2-4 hours a day in the morning (Monday-Friday) are given to language classes and time is allowed in the afternoon to go out on campus and practice speaking to native students. Community Life God is interested in the fellowship and character of His worker. Through experiencing life as a community, you can identify the personal differences in your group and learn to adapt and unit for a higher purpose. There are residence homes for the trainees in all the headquarters, except for the East Asia regions, which provide campus housing for the interns. You will build up teamwork and unity through group prayers and accountability.

East Asia (Director: Joshua Na & staffs) The East Asia interns will enroll in universities and live on campus in one of 30 possible universities. In this part of the world, security is critical and the mere gathering of a group can be cause for suspicion. Unlike any other place, the students are placed in almost equal positions with the local staff in the ministry. It is more akin to real mission work than training because of the hands-on experience. Therefore, spiritual and character maturity is greatly challenged. The training period is 1 year, beginning in the month of August. Japan (Directors: Sung Chul, KCCC & Mike Ebert, CCCI) Both KCCC and CCCI have been sending STINT members to Japan for some time. Compared to other nations, Japan is easy to enter. However, due to its intricate language, complex social patterns and beliefs, and deeply rooted evil practices such as idol worship to thousands of gods, Japan is one of the most difficult places for missionaries to do ministry. Many missionaries are sent to Japan, but the fruits of their labor are slow to appear. But a new movement is growing among the young people on campus that is bringing to the ministry in Japan.
