2007 KCCC Vision Conference

History of KCCC
Campus Crusade for Christ was founded by Bill and Vonette Bright at University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in 1951. One year later, Bill Bright wrote 'The Four Spiritual Laws' - likely the most widely distributed religious booklet in history, with approximately 2.5 billion printed to date. By 1960, Campus Crusade was established on 40 campuses in the United States and in two other countries. During the 1960's the ministry began conducting international Christmas conferences and summer mission projects. In 2003, the campus ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ currently has active movements on more than 1,000 campuses with 44,000 students involved. There are 1,700 full-time campus ministry staff members serving in the U.S. and internationally. The ministry is sharing the gospel with approximately 8 million students each year with 7,900 recorded decisions by students who accepted Christ last year.

Established in 1958
While studying at Fuller Seminary in Pasadena, California, Reverend Joon Gon Kim met Dr. Bright and learned of their common vision to reach the world for Christ. Reverend Kim returned to Korea and established Korea Campus Crusade for Christ (KCCC) in 1958. During the last forty years, KCCC has maintained its commitment to evangelize to Korea. With its main headquarter in Seoul, KCCC is operating ministries in 43 major cities in South Korea. KCCC has commissioned 1,000 staff members as overseas missionaries, and plans to send out 10,000 more staff members to unreached people groups by the year 2000.

Since then KCCC has focused on working with the college students and has played an important role in the shaping of Korean Christianity. With its main headquarters in Seoul, Korea Campus Crusade for Christ has commissioned more than a thousand staff members overseas as missionaries. It is the hope of this ministry to commission ten thousand missionaries into the 10/40 Window by the year 2020.

In 1982, Young-Won Kang established KCCC in America at Columbia University, New York University, and Julliard School of Music. KCCC serves campuses all over the United States, reaching out and touching the lives of thousands of Korean-Americans. KCCC strives to help the 1.5 and second generation Korean-Americans firmly establish their identity first as Christians, then as Korean-Americans.

Korea Campus Crusade for Christ in America
Korea Campus Crusade for Christ began commissioning missionaries into the United States, because of the need to minister to 1.5 and second generation Korean Americans. The focus of the new ministry was to firmly establish the Christian identities of the next generation of Koreans in America.

Korea Campus Crusade for Christ Today
Dong Whan and Jung Sook Kim helped to bring about a great student revival when they came into positions of leadership in 1996 at LA KCCC. The Great Commission Training Center (GCTC) for Korean staffs was established for the first time outside of Korea in 1997 to offer staff development and training and has since yielded more than sixty full-time staff. The Macedonian Project has also experienced rapid growth since 1997, and this past summer more than three hundred students were sent to eight different countries along the 10/40 Window for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. Vision Conference has grown from eighty attendants in 1996 to more than 1,200 attendees in 2002, and maintains a dream of three thousand students by the year 2005. The Gethsemane Prayer movement began in 1997 with twenty people but has since grown to more than three hundred students every week. Gethsemane Prayer has fueled the student movements not only in the Los Angeles region, but also in San Diego, Berkeley, New York City, Buffalo, and Toronto, Canada.

KCCC seeks to WIN, BUILD, TRAIN, and SEND students into the world as beacons of light for the fulfillment of the Great Commission in this generation. Our means of training students consist of small group leadership training, campus witness meetings, morning prayer, retreats, lock-ins, Gethsemane Prayer meetings, weekly open chapels, summer missions, Gideon Leadership Training, and much more.

Post 2004 KCCC Vision Conference

More Than Conqueror
In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” Romans 8:37
When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus.” Acts 4:13

Peter and John were mere men.
They were uneducated, ordinary fishermen.
But when the Holy Spirit took hold of these ordinary men, their lives became outstanding, and they turned the whole world, up-side down.

People everywhere, are becoming lost in the path of life; and they seek the truth in that which is not. Today, more knowledge and information are available and accessible to us than at any other time in all of history. Ironically, although we are equipped with fully advanced, cutting edge technology, we, as Christians, have lost our strength in today’s modern pluralistic society. And God did not will for us to be satisfied, simply with the use of our talents for our won lives.

In this wicked generation, we are in need of disciples who will stand firm with the revolutionary love and the power, from above, to help change the world. We can, and should, become more than conquerors.
Come join us for 2004 Vision Conference.
Dong Whan Kim
Director of KCCC Los Angeles

LA KCCC PRAISE TEAM
Our Praise Team’s purpose is to obey God’s calling in leading His people through the gats of praise and into His presence. Seeking biblical concepts of worship through prayer and into His presence. Seeking biblical concepts of worship through prayer, our Praise Team strives for sensitivity to God’s Spirit that the anointing of His Spirit may flow in our corporate worship. “Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy.” (Psalms 33:3)

HOSANNA
We find strength and spirit surging when we are praising our Almighty God. Hosanna is a body worship team that seeks to create a dynamic way of worship, that we may maximize our adoration unto God through the full use of our bodies as we praise and worship our Lord. We harmonize music, lyrics, and sign language into a rhythmic dance that allows a deeper experience of the spiritual act of worship. “The joy of the Lord is our strength!” (Nehemiah 8:10)

IMPACT
IMPACT is a dance team, created on the inspired idea of liberating from the traditional concept of “body worship.” Through fast, upbeat music, and exhilarating hip-hop choreography, our dancers exhibit the culmination of passion and excitement in worship and honor to our living God. Our IMPACT dance team’s vision is to exude an impact of the full extent of worship to the young generation, and to serve as a bridge leading them to Christ.

Post Awaiting God's Raindrops

Welcome
Awaiting God's raindrops...

"No! In all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." - Romans 8:37

Recently, California experienced its worst wildfire incident in all its history. People watching captions of the fire on the news were in disbelief at the awesome extent of the fires they saw. The firemen fighting the fire with their single hoses appeared so tiny against the wall of fire reaching a maximum height of 50 feet. It truly seemed impossible to put out this amazing fire, and yet once the heavens opened up, the wildfire subsided to the drops of rain and snow.

Although this wildfire has been put out, there is a fire which we cannot see; an invisible fire among us that is endlessly vomiting a black, death-stained smoke. Hatred, drug-abuse, violence and murder, carnal desire, and most of all, humanism and love of pleasure that openly challenge God are the fires which cannot be seen, but are consuming us, nevertheless. Sadly, many churches and Christians who are fighting these fires seem to appear so insignificant against this immense wall of unseen fire.

But, our commander, Jesus Christ declares to us, "Do not be afraid, little flock, for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom." Luke 12:32
Jesus Christ's ultimate victory is our victory as well.
We are more than conquerors in all things through Him who loves us dearly.

It is paramount that we sufficiently overcome by the refreshing showers of God's grace, washing away our sins, and casting aside dark clouds of chaos, until the day when we stand before the radiance of God.
Through this year's vision conference, we must awaken the giant that is asleep within each of us. We must awaken the Peter's and the Paul's that are asleep within us.

Let us not cause God's perfect love toward us to be in vain.
Let us not be complacent simply with our own forgiveness.
Because of His love, we must forget our past mistakes and sins, and nail them to the cross.
Because of His love, we must fully cultivate and make use of every potential and spiritual ability that is within us.
Only then, can we become a hope to this nation, a hope to our families and campuses.
To all of you who have come to attend our Vision Conference, I welcome you.

Dong Whan Kim
Director of Los Angeles KCCC

Post Action Time and the Vision Bookstore

"How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!" Romans 10:15

God's abundant blessings must always be followed by actions that demonstrate true faith and the power of God. Our final program of Vision Conference is called "Action Time," and this is done outside of our conference grounds. This is the time where we put into action all the things that we have learned during the conference.

Action Time beings after you have packed up and loaded everything into the car by which you will return home. Every carpool group will drive to the nearest or most convenient shopping mall that appears on their way home. You will use the Four Spiritual Laws booklets, which you should have received from your LTC classes, and your assignment is to read through the entire book to at least one person. The driver of each car is responsible for leading the Action Time, and this means they should encourage everyone to actively participate in this witnessing opportunity. After completing Action time, and upon their return home, the driver must complete one more very important task; the driver of each car must turn in a brief report sheet, which can be torn out of the back of the handbook. They must fill out the report sheet and turn it into our KCCC headquarter office, either in person, or via mail.

Post A Final Message "To Go"

As this conference comes to a close, let us reflect upon the many expectations that we had anticipated as we waited for 2004 Vision Conference. We firmly believe that our faithful Father has done His supernatural work in us as He fulfilled each of our expectations during these last four days. He has met each and every one of us in a manner far beyond, and we praise Him for His faithfulness.

God has renewed our hope through His love, to embolden our faith and give us the courage to live as more than conquerors. Now it is time for us to take heart towards the challenges that face us, in light of God's promises which we have claimed in His word. Let us consider the following principles that will help us make a successful transition back into our daily lives, without shifting our focus from the Lord.

1. Be prepared for trials. Conflicts do not disappear, just because we have been blessed tremendously. Satan will try to deceive us into voiding out our faith and God's grace through His cunning schemes. Make the commitment to yield your mind, heart, and body to the Lord, so that the Spirit will reign over your thoughts, emotions, and actions. Do not let yourself be discouraged by an disappointments or mishaps; rather trust in God, not the circumstances which surround you. Choose to give thanks in all circumstances. Greater is our God in heaven than our enemy who is in the world.

2. Attend meetings regularly. Fellowship with other Christians serve as a great fuel for our spiritual growth. Make plans to regularly attend church meetings, prayer meetings, and small group bible study meetings.

3. Create lasting friendships. Make the type of friends with whom you can share your testimonies, trials, and every prayer request with. Get to know your campus staff and small group leaders. Share your joy, as well as your pain with them. Sharing your sadness with someone will reduce it to half; sharing your joy with another doubles it.

4. Live a life of applying God's Word. Read God's word daily, and witness regularly. You will not fail in your walk with the Lord, as long as you maintain a good relationship with Him at all times. In fact, the only true failure happens when we lack a deep fellowship with the Lord.

Vision Conference is the annual winter retreat hosted by Korea Campus Crusade that invites college students to experience a personal revival and intimate awakening with God through a movement of repentance and dedication before the start of the New Year. Since the winter of 1996, the number of participants has grown from eighty students to more than 1,200 people in just a few years. Vision Conference has been the seed of revival in young college students across Southern California and throughout America. Through this conference, it is our vision to find dedicated missionaries who will play a key role in bringing about a revival to this generation.
