Hello and welcome to my personal webpage here at Kwak.org. I'll be administrating and managing the website from here on.
My name is Kevin Kwak and I was fortunate enough to register the Kwak.org domain in 2003 (back in my college days). Since then, I had used the website as a personal homepage up until January 2007.
When I opened the website in 2003, few visitors around the globe sent me an e-mail sharing a brief information about their family history, asked for help on finding someone with the Kwak surname, and explained the history on the origins of the Kwak ancestors. Unfortunately, I have deleted all those emails long time ago.
To introduce myself, I am a Korean-American, born in South Korea and immigrated to the U.S. when I was in early elementary school. We lived in the Koreatown neighborhood in Los Angeles and to this day we live in the Los Angeles County.
Up until high school, I could not meet a single person with the same last name as mine. The prevalent Korean surnames are Lee, Park, and Kim and most Koreans I've met had that surname.
Source: [1] which consists of about 45% of all Koreans.
