Introduction I been waiting to pick up a digital single lens reflex (dSLR) camera for the longest time because the prices of these cameras were not cheap at all. When the digital SLR cameras were first introduced to the mass market by companies like Canon and Nikon, the base price were averaging one thousand dollars and it was their entry level cameras too. Yikes!
Several years have passed and with technology, prices drop every quarter and new features supersede outdated technology. Year 2009 there were numerous digital cameras to choose from and the best part of it is that the entry level priced cameras have dropped substantially.
When you are in the market to buy a camera, few of the company brands pop in your head because of the past exposure (pun intended) with commercial advertisements. The brands I was most familiar with were Canon and Nikon. There are also Olympus, Sony, Pentax, Fujifilm, Samsung, Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma. The digital camera industry is competitive as the sales of compact sized cameras have soared throughout the years due to the affordable pricing and spectacular photography technology. Consumers can purchase a brand new camera at a retail price starting at $100 and still get great detailed photos. |
