Nikon D60 Successor It has been weeks ever since Nikon announced the successors for the entry-level digital SLRs. The ever popular Nikon D40 continues to sell quite well despite being three years old. But that doesn't matter when the retail price of the camera unit is very attractive and the camera has been perfected for the budding photographers.
Spring 2009, Nikon introduced the new D3000, D5000, and the D300s models. D3000 will supersede Nikon D40 and probably D60 as the cameras share similar features and exterior designs. Well the Nikon D3000 shares practically the same body as both D40 and D60, but the surprise is actually within the camera. The only noticeable changes from the D3000 with the D40/60 is the 3 inch LCD on the back while the D60 displays a 2.7 inch (both 230,000 dots).
The key feature that photographers would gladly appreciate and welcome from the D3000 model is the 11 autofocus points. The D40/60 is pretty limited with its 3 autofocus points. The price difference between the new D3000 model and the D40/60 lineup is not substantial and would highly recommend purchasing the D3000 camera if you are looking for an entry level DSLR. |
